From Humble Beginnings;

Nolberto Berganza was born in the City of Chiquimula Guatemala situated between the borders of Honduras and El Salvador. In 1992 Nolberto Moved to Washington DC at the age of 16. Upon his arrival Nolberto established himself by working two jobs, during the day as a landscaper and dishwasher by night.

At the age of 17, Nolberto decided to dedicate himself to the food industry. He started to work for well-known restaurants and hotels such as Calamari Ristorante, Café Milano, Filomena Ristonte, Red Tomato Italian cuisine, The Beacon Hotel former (The Governors House Hotel) & Nage Bistro all in the Georgetown & downtown DC areas. In these different places Nolberto learned different techniques and cuisine styles such as Italian, French & American.

In the 2008 Nolberto and his wife Ana Moved to Hyattsville MD where they raised their three children Carla, Allan & Stacy.

As the learning process continued, Nolberto became Chef di Cuisine for Noelia Italian kitchen in the heart of Washington DC, five blocks away from the White House. His last position as Executive Task Force Chef (travel Chef) for Crescent Hotels & Resorts was based in Virginia but required travel to different states in the US.

After all this hard work over 25 years in the food industry for others it is now my turn to work hard for myself. The opportunity to acquire an Italian Grill and Pizzeria from an Italian family in Wharton NJ came to us. After years of waiting for the right opportunity it was finally here. We decided to move with our family to New Jersey after living for almost 30 years in the DMV area (Washington dc, Maryland & Virginia).

La Forchetta Pizzeria and Italian Grill is a family owned and operated at 350 N. Main Street, suite 5 Wharton NJ 07885. We are open for Lunch and Dinner and serve a full Italian menu featuring all types of Pizza, Hot and Cold Sandwiches, Antipasto, Soup, Pasta, Chicken, Veal, and Seafood Dishes.

We cook from scratch with fresh ingredients! Our homemade soups like escarole and beans, stracciatella, pasta fagioli & tortellini in brood are prepared when you order. A little of extra waiting time gives you much better flavor! We promise home-made is because we really do make every dish.
